Prerequisite(s): JOU 3355. Building upon the foundational photographic skills developed in ‘Media Photography,’ this course immerses students in the practice of photojournalism. Students will undertake individual projects exploring real-world issues, focusing on location assignments and documentary work designed for publication. This course moves beyond basic technique, demanding critical observation, ethical storytelling, and the ability to capture compelling narratives through visual documentation. Laboratory work will be utilized to refine skills in image selection, sequencing, and the overall impact of a photojournalistic story. Laboratory required.
