Catalog description

This course provides an overview of the fundamental financial and accounting principles used in healthcare organizations. Topics include understanding financial statements, basic ratio analysis, budgeting, and the time value of money to a healthcare management context.  Students will explore how these principles apply to real-world healthcare settings and develop introductory skills in financial decision-making.  Emphasis will be placed on building a solid foundation for more advanced study through practical examples, case discussions, and analysis of current financial issues in the healthcare industry.
