Catalog description

Prerequisite(s): FIN 4360 and FIN 4365. This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the strategies, history, and growing importance of private market investments within institutional investors’ portfolios. Students will learn the characteristics and return profiles of Venture Capital, Growth Equity, Buyout, Private Credit, Real Estate and Infrastructure. Students will gain an understanding of fund/portfolio construction, due diligence activities, value creation strategies, and legal terms negotiations employed by investment managers (“General Partners”) and capital allocators (“Limited Partners”). Students will apply the knowledge learned by analyzing and discussing multiple case studies.
