Catalog description

This course is a survey of Western analytic philosophy: metaphysics and epistemology, ethics, philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, philosophy of religion, and philosophy of science. Students focus on primary texts to explore such concepts as knowledge of the world; moral behavior and the nature of morality; the relationship between minds and bodies; arguments for and against the existence of God; and how to employ logical analysis and empirical observations to evaluate arguments. Recommended Preparation: ENGL C1000
