Catalog description

This course examines the origin, development, and organization of the juvenile justice system as it evolved in the American justice system. The course explores theories of juvenile law and delinquency, courts and processes, and the constitutional protections extended to juveniles. An emphasis will be placed on the prevention and repression of delinquency, diagnosis and referral of juvenile offenders, and organization of community resources. Recommended preparation: ENGL C1000
