0.5 Continuing Education Units (CEU). This course is not for Credit(s). This course is designed to provide hands-on instruction in digital forensics in litigation, focusing on the application of online and social media websites and litigation review platforms in discovery. Topics covered include digital forensics, downloading of social media and other online sites, litigation review platforms, and the use of e-discovery in litigation. Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course the student will be able to: 1. utilize computer technology to conduct e-discovery activities; 2. compare and contrast different forms of e-discovery technology; 3. discuss the use of e-discovery during pre-trial and trial phases of litigation; and 4. discuss the challenges social media presents regarding e-discovery.
