Catalog description
Functions as the capstone course in the Network Security Certificate program. Students work in teams to carry out an in-depth study of the class network that includes: developing comprehensive security policies and procedures, conducting a vulnerability assessment, utilizing network security tools, methodologies, and best practices to secure the network and its related systems and services, detecting and responding to an intrusion, anticipating and protecting the network from future intrusion, and identifying relevant regulatory, legal, and ethical issues. Taught in a combination of lecture and hands-on format. Course offered once a year (fall or spring). Prerequisite(s): DCOM 261 or written permission from the Program Director required Back to Top |
