CHRIST IN THE GOSPELS

Catalog description

This course investigates the four canonical Gospels, with a particular focus on their depiction of the person of Christ through his deeds and teachings. Introductory attention is given to Gospels generally and overviews each Gospel in particular, and an in tegration of patristic -medieval reading strategies with modern exegetical insights is modeled throughout. Specific attention is devoted to the Gospels’ depiction of Christ through Old Testament allusions, Christ’s miracles, teachings, passion and resurrection.
