Catalog description

This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of the philosophical foundations, appropriate domains, and strengths and limitations of qualitative research as distinct from quantitative research. Students are introduced to multiple methodologies within qualitative research including existential -phenomenological analysis, grounded theory, and narrative inquiry. The course emphasizes both the critical evaluation of psychological research, as well as the actual design, administration, and report of s tudents' original research projects. Students will be expected to acquire skills required to conduct and interpret qualitative psychological research. Prerequisites: PSYC 201, PSYC 205, PSYC 305.
