Catalog description

This course provides students with a basic understanding of the research process as it applies to the investigation of problems within the social sciences. Consideration will be given to both natural science and human science, quantitative and qualitative perspectives. Students will learn several techniques and methods employed in conducting research, sampling, measurement, and data analysis. The course emphasizes both the critical evaluation of psychological research, as well as the actual design, administration, and report of students' original research projects. Upon completion of the course, students will have gained expertise in conducting psychological research and interpreting the results. Prerequisites: PSYC 201, PSYC 230 or STAT 230.
