FRANCISCAN PHILOSOPHY

Catalog description

This course aims to introduce the student to the tradition of Franciscan thought. This tradition exists both as imbedded in the scholasticism of the high middle ages but also distinguishes itself as an approach to reality with its own unique character. The student will read the work of Bonaventure, Scotus, and Ockham, who are the major representatives of this intellectual tradition. Prerequisites: PHIL 205, PHIL 206, PHIL 302.
