Catalog description

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the field of music education, exploring foundational philosophies, theories, and practical approaches to teaching music. Students will engage with various music education philosophies, including but not limited to, the Kodály Method, Orff Schulwerk, Dalcroze Eurhythmics, Suzuki Method, Ward Method, and Music Learning Theory. The course will delve into theories of music teaching and learning, examining cognitive, social, and developmental perspectives that inform effective music instruction. Practicum workshops will offer hands -on experience in lesson planning, classroom management, and instructional strategies.
