SYSTEMS CONTROLS
Ave Maria University · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
The course introduces fundamental concepts of automation and controls with emphasis on frequency and time domain modeling of various physical domains, including mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, thermal, and fluid systems. Open and closed loop fe edback systems are analyzed with the use of Block Diagrams, Bode Plots, and Root Locus graphical methods. Control system design and stability analysis leads to static and dynamic compensators, including PID, lead and lag, and pole placement for State Space time-domain modeling. Prerequisites: MECH 220, MECH 200, MATH 252.
