Catalog description

The course introduces concepts of material science in engineering, including atomic and crystalline structures, solidificatio n and crystalline imperfections, thermally activated processes, mechanical and physical properties of metals, phase diagrams of alloys, manufacturing processes, failure mechanisms, and corrosion mechanisms and control. Prerequisite: CHEM 125.
