Catalog description

The purpose of this course is to provide detailed review of key physiological considerations for exercise prescription in populations such as older adults, women, children, as well as those with pathological conditions including diabetes, heart disease, cancer, arthritis, and obesity. This special populations course includes a key focus on the assessment of functional capacity of the older adult and methods of training to prolong independence and maximize quality of life. Prerequisite: BIOL 250.
