Catalog description
This course provides an in -depth exposure to the interaction of the cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine, nervous, and musculoskeletal systems during exercise. Instruction emphasizes system responses to acute and chronic exercise, including mechanisms of fatigue, thermoregulation, energy utilization, and adaptation to the exercise stimulus. Concepts serve as a basis for exercise prescription and dietary recommendations for goals of reducing cardiometabolic diseases and optimizing performance. Prerequisite: BIOL 250.
