Course Descriptions EDUC 201 EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATIONS This course is designed to acquaint the student with the basics of the teaching vocation. It will expose teacher candidates to the elements involved in the art and science of teaching as well as the sociological, historical, and philosophical foundations of education. It will particularly focus on key elements of American education, classical education, and Catholic education. This course will also introduce the principles and practices of elementary and secondary education, including curriculum planning, evaluation procedures, classroom management, educational standards, and school organization. This course is ESOL infused. Eight (8) field experience hours are required.
