Catalog description
This course introduces principles and practices of journalistic writing. Throughout the semester, students compose their own articles or broadcast packages. Possible topics may include current issues, local events, the arts, the sciences, food and beverage, and travel. Students may work with written, visual, auditory or online media to compose their own articles, videos, podcasts, etc. Related dimensions of online journalism such as communication ethics, personal branding, and user experience may also be discussed. May repeat for credit.
