Catalog description

Continuation of Medical-Surgical Nursing I with application of the nursing process and clinical judgement model to the care of the adult patient experiencing medical-surgical conditions along the health-illness continuum in a variety of health care settings. Incorporates knowledge necessary to make the transition from student to graduate vocational nurse. In addition, this course incorporates use of a systematic problem-solving framework, evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning skills necessary when providing nursing care for adult patients. Emphasis will be placed on the vocational nurse roles of provider of patient-centered care, patient safety advocate, member of the profession, and member of the health care team.
