Catalog description
Study of fundamentals of Spanish: conversation, basic writing, listening and reading comprehension, vocabulary building, grammar, and culture. This course fosters understanding of Spanish-speaking people through cultural comparison and development of written and spoken communication. Honors Spanish I-Health Professions - A study of the fundamentals of Spanish for use in the health professions. Honors Spanish I-Mis Chulas Fronteras - Please contact the Honors Program at www.austincc.edu/honors for additional information. Spanish I for Native Speakers - Introductory course for students who possess a spoken knowledge of Southwestern U.S. Spanish and who wish to develop competency in reading and writing standard Spanish. Through readings and compositions, the student will be introduced to the conventions of standard Spanish grammar and spelling.
