Applied Quality Management in Manufacturing

Catalog description

The course provides students with the knowledge and techniques required for managing, controlling, and improving quality in line with the philosophy of Total Quality Management (TQM). Students will be exposed to the risks of process inefficiency which can lead to inconsistent product quality, costly waste, non-standardization, and other reliability and productivity problems. This course builds on the student's knowledge of quality improvement techniques to assist in process improvement, production control, production planning, and decision making. A brief review of the fundamentals of statistics and probability and their applications in quality management is provided. Course is only open to students admitted to the Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Manufacturing Engineering Technology program.
