Catalog description

Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. Instructional program approval required. This course was designed to be repeated multiple times to improve student proficiency. Etiquette and Protocol - This course is an examination of proper etiquette and protocol within business and social settings. The course will focus on common courtesies, proper greetings and introductions, dining etiquette and table settings, verbal and non-verbal forms of communication, how to connect when networking and business card exchange etiquette, appropriate attire based on the setting, and international etiquette. Social Media Marketing within Hospitality and Tourism - This course introduces the principles, concepts and systems utilized in the social media marketing area within the hospitality and tourism industries. An in depth analysis of marketing strategies and theories combined with a practical application of providing social media solutions to local businesses.
