A study of the principles of composition with emphasis on language, the mechanics of writing, the types of discourse, and research and documentation. English Composition I Honors: Pop Culture - Please contact the Honors Program at austincc.edu/honors for additional information. English Composition I: African and African Diaspora Studies - This course relates topics in ENGL 1301 to the intellectual, historical, political, artistic, religious, scientific, economic, and/or sociocultural experiences of people of African descent. It is part of ACC's African and African Diaspora Studies (AADS) program but is open to all students and counts as a standard ENGL 1301 course. English Composition I: American Studies - This course relates topics in ENGL 1301 to the historical, political, legal, economic, and cultural life of the United States. It is part of ACC's American Studies (AMS) program but is open to all students and counts as a standard ENGL 1301 course. English Composition I: ESL - This course is a study of the principles of composition with emphasis on language, the mechanics of writing, documentation and research, and the types of discourse. ENGL 1301: ESL is the equivalent of ENGL 1301 and is designed to help students who are non-native speakers of English develop the skills they will need to succeed academically. English Composition I: Global Studies - This course relates topics in ENGL 1301 to the diversity, complexity and interdependence of the world community and current global issues. It is part of ACC's Global Studies (GS) program but is open to all students and counts as a standard ENGL 1301 course.
