Catalog description

This course provides students with entry-level skills in industry software, professional practices, and the specialized technologies used by entertainment technicians. Entertainment Technologies - Focuses on students gaining an expert level understanding of design and interpretive tools used by entertainment technicians and designers. Topics will include drafting practices, drawing and modeling tools, document organization, and entertainment industry specific CAD tools. Students will complete a series of progressively challenging drafting projects in class with instructor support to develop their understanding of the drafting program as well as drafting principles in the entertainment industry. Professional Image Management - Students will explore the business side of show business. In the ever competitive arts world, knowing yourself, including both your strengths and weaknesses will help you put your best foot forward for interviews, auditions, and showcases. This course will not lead students to create "cookie cutter" marketing materials, but rather documents that express who they are as working artists and employment ready technicians.
