Catalog description

Fundamental principles of living organisms will be studied, including physical and chemical properties of life, organization, function, evolutionary adaptation, and classification. Concepts of cytology, reproduction, genetics, and scientific reasoning are included. The accompanying laboratory reinforces these concepts through hands-on investigation, experimentation, data analysis, and application of core biological techniques. BIOL 1406 is not a prerequisite for BIOL 1407; they may be taken in any order. BIOL 1406 and BIOL 1408 may not both be counted towards the same degree plan.
