Catalog description

This course reviews the core PLC programming techniques and then lets students apply their skills to address various manufacturing scenarios and then will expand their knowledge to incorporate the HMI. In this course, students will learn about HMI and SCADA; will learn to create graphical interfaces used by operators in an automated manufacturing environment; will look at various vision software; and will gain experience through projects which create PLC interfaces similar to those found in automation. The projects will incorporate graphics that monitor the process and establish operating parameters, collect data, and more. Course is only open to students admitted to the Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Manufacturing Engineering Technology program.
