Catalog description

Within this specialist year course, the relationship between systemic oppression and social work practice is critically examined. The ways in which client's diverse environments influence their experiences and identities are assessed. Content includes the topics of human rights, social, economic, and environmental justice and strategies designed to eliminate oppressive structural barriers to promote equity and inclusion. Students explore the power and privilege held by social workers and its impact on clients, colleagues, and system.
