School Social Work Policy and Practice II

Catalog description
This is the second of a two-course sequence for students working to acquire their Professional Educator Licensure for School Social Work. This course focuses on policy development, the history of education and laws affecting marginalized populations of students, and how school social workers can tackle oppression in schools. Additionally, students will learn about evidence-informed practice, including interventions specific to mental health, suicide prevention, and bullying prevention, in the real world of School Social Work. This course will help prepare students to provide school social work services to individuals, groups, families, the school system, and the community.
