Therapeutic Recreation Field Work

Catalog description

This highly immersive course is designed as a credit-for-work experience by offering paid practical hands-on experience in the field of therapeutic recreation. The student must meet all the hiring criteria for the organization, as well as apply, interview, and be hired by an approved therapeutic recreation department/organization prior to the start of the semester and work a minimum of 45 hours during the semester to earn credit. If a student/employee is terminated by the organization for cause at any time during the semester, the grade is an F. *Fox Valley Special Recreation Association is currently the first and only approved site.
