Fundamentals of Enrollment Management

In this course, students will be introduced to the theory and practice of enrollment management as it is practiced in institutions of higher learning in the U.S. While providing a broad overview of enrollment management planning, this course will also engage students in a detailed exploration of contemporary and controversial topics that have a profound influence on the field, including: college choice, market niches, admissions, recruiting, transfer/articulation, pricing, financial aid, student persistence/retention, non-traditional students, the role of the registrar, and data analytics. By the end of the course, students will have a deeper understanding of the competing interests and ethical considerations that practitioners strive to balance in their dual role as a gatekeeper and guardian of brand, image, and mission of a higher education institution.
