Catalog description

(G) This course turns a critical lens onto the complex and increasingly interconnected interactions between societies and cultures. The course examines colonialism, migration, intercultural interactions, commodification and late capitalism, the fate of local communities within global economic and political systems, with a particular focus on critical tourism studies. Prerequisite: SOAN 101 or 102 or permission of instructor. Offered in alternating years.
