ISS 350
Ethical Service Learn
Augustana College · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course will be taught only in conjunction with ISS-352: International Service Practicum, a two-course sequence taught as the January-Term study-away program. This is the first of two sequenced study-abroad courses: this first fall-term course on campus and the second January-term course in Cambodia. In this first course, we will prepare for the study-abroad portion by learning about Cambodian history, politics, and culture. We also will study ethical practices of service leaning in cultures other than our own, as well as create materials for our service learning work abroad. Students must complete and pass ISS-350 and ISS-352 to earn the Perspectives on Human Values and Existence (PH) learning perspective, and the Global (G) and Service Learning (SL) suffixes. ************************************************* NOTE: For Fall semester 2021-2022 a PH, G was awarded per the General Education Committee for that one semester ONLY. *************************************************
