Intro to Chinese Films

Catalog description

(PA, G) An introduction to the Chinese cinema and culture produced in the Chinese-speaking world including People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, as well as Chinese immigrant societies in the USA. Students will examine what kind of contextual differences exist in the Chinese-speaking world and how they are represented and negotiated in cinematic productions. Taught in English. No prerequisites required.
