Catalog description

(PA) Exploration of surface design and off-loom fabric construction. Course will begin by introducing fabric printing, resist dyeing (tie dye), wet felting, quilting, and stitching alongside historical and contemporary developments in surface design and the use of pattern in contemporary art. Students will work towards a visual and conceptual research project culminating in a final project building on processes introduced in class. $100.00 lab fee
