Methods for teaching students with special needs in the general education classroom setting are described. Included are characteristics of the most common disabilities, as well as collaborative interactions with special education teachers. The course covers pre-referral and referral procedures; research-based instructional methodologies; materials, strategies, and techniques; and assistive technologies.
