An introduction to qualitative research methodologies including formulating viable research questions; various issues related to ethical conduct and validity when conducting fieldwork; data gathering techniques through participant observation, interviews, and focus groups; coding and analysis of data; and writing research findings. Prerequisite(s): ( SOCI 1101 >= C or SOCI 1101H >= C) and SOCI 1160 >= C and SOCI 3001 >= C Lecture Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
