Catalog description

This course covers head and neck cancer diagnosis, treatment options, side effects of non-surgical and surgical treatments, oral cancer surgeries and reconstruction, laryngeal cancer surgery and reconstruction, total laryngectomy, post laryngectomy, voice rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation, swallowing assessment, and treatment of all head and neck cancer diagnoses across the continuum of care. Instruction includes instruction trachs and speaking valves, patient studies, and product samples to support learning. Corequisite(s): SLPP 5301 and SLPP 5303 and SLPP 5304 and SLPP 5305 and SLPP 5306 and SLPP 5307 Lecture Hours: 1 Contact Hours: 1 Repeatability: May be repeated for credit up to 2 times.
