Clinical Practicum I

Catalog description
Adhering to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) standards as dictated by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in SLP and accordance with The Council for Clinical Certification in SLP (CFCC) standards for professional certification, graduate students are required to obtain a minimum of 400 clock hours (375 supervised clinical practicum) for graduation. During this first clinical practicum, Level One graduate students participate in direct patient/client contact while supervised by an ASHA-certified clinical preceptor(s) across various therapeutic settings. Development and application of appropriate evidence-based evaluation and treatment plans, collaborative supervisory meetings, self-analysis skills, and completion of written documentation via CALIPSO are expected. Corequisite(s): SLPP 5201 and SLPP 5202 and SLPP 5203 and SLPP 5204 and SLPP 5206 Other Hours: 1 Contact Hours: 1 Repeatability: May be repeated for credit up to 2 times.
