Pediatric Assessment and Intervention (with Diagnostic Lab)

Catalog description

This course provides screening, evaluation, and assessment processes for pediatric speech-language-communication disorders. Content encompasses planning, informal, standardized assessment, and interpretation for developing appropriate goals and outcomes. The course introduces students to the process of evaluation and assessment required to identify, define, differentiate, and plan for pediatric individuals presenting with speech-language-communication disorders from birth to adolescence. Students develop prerequisite knowledge for functioning in the capacity of a diagnostician. Learning is facilitated through lectures, observation, discussion, and simulated lab screening/evaluation competencies.
