Defense Preparation and Presentation

Catalog description

This course marks the culmination of the doctoral journey, guiding PhD candidates through the final stages of their dissertation completion and defense. Students will refine their dissertation, create their presentation and prepare and deliver a formal oral defense of their dissertation. Students will prepare to demonstrate mastery of their field, discuss the significance of their research, and be able to respond to critical feedback in a scholarly and professional manner. Completion requires submission of the final approved dissertation and passing a formal defense as approved by the dissertation committee. Pre- or Corequisite(s): SECR 9902 Repeatability: May be repeated for credit one time.
