Dissertation Prospectus

Catalog description
This research course guides students in writing their dissertation proposal/prospectus. The prospectus outlines the type of dissertation being pursued. The course supports students through key steps of writing and defending their prospectus, including developing their research design, selecting appropriate data and methods, conducting a literature review, and creating a dissertation calendar for submitting completed sections. This course may be taken more than once and culminates in the submission and defense of a prospectus for final approval by the student’s advisory committee. Successfully completing the prospectus is one of the prerequisites for advancing to PhD candidacy. Repeatability: May be repeated for credit.
