Catalog description

Examines strategies to counter domestic and transnational terrorism. The first part of the course focuses on defining terrorism and counterterrorism. The second part of the course examines the different types of terrorism and motivating factors for terrorist attacks. The third part of the course analyzes the strategies to counter the different types of terrorism. Finally, this course applies counterterrorism strategies to the United States’ national security to see what strategies work best in different contexts and scenarios.
