An overview of why some political movements decide to use terrorism as a strategy. It covers the causes, the conduct, as well as the consequences of terrorism in different parts of the world. In the process, the course addresses the theories used to study terrorism as well as the measures used to counter terrorism. The objective of the course is for students to acquire the tools and techniques needed to engage in a critical analysis of the conflicts which seed terrorism.
