Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce students to emerging trends in conflict within the field of security studies. The course will focus on potential future conflicts as a result of geopolitics and shifting power dynamics internationally. The course will also examine past, current, and future trends pertaining to conflict and violence more generally. Lastly, the course will analyze the role artificial intelligence, cybertechnology, environmental factors, and the militarization of space will play in influencing conflict in the near and distant future. The overall aim of the course is to provide students with a better understanding of the factors that will shape of security studies in the coming decades. Lecture Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
