Catalog description

Focuses on managing a firm’s upstream supply chain (i.e., its key suppliers of raw materials and parts). An introductory understanding of supply management is provided through an emphasis on supplier relationship management and strategic supply management. Supplier relationship management entails on-going activities including supplier selection, cost management, supplier development, and conflict resolution. Strategic supply management principles include the basic tenets of SCM, the differences between traditional purchasing and contemporary supply management philosophies, and the development of supply management strategy that is linked to business and corporate strategy. Prerequisite(s): QUAN 4640 >= C Lecture Hours: 3 Contact Hours: 3 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
