Integrated Patient Management

Catalog description
Provides physical therapy students with the opportunity to integrate all aspects of the patient management model across complex patients. Information presented in the course is designed to build on basic skills and expand intervention options as available for the management of patients with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary and integumentary dysfunction. Emphasis is placed on clinical decision-making related to various pathologies. Content is presented using a variety of instructional strategies to include lecture/discussion, small group activities and lab participation. The emphasis of the course is a “hands-on” approach whenever possible. The course culminates in a comprehensive exam. Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of previous DPT coursework. Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 4 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
