Catalog description

Student groups work through problems and case studies related to spinal pathology, impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities. Emphasis is placed on examination, evaluation, intervention, and physical therapy diagnosis related to the spine and axial skeleton. Content includes 1) all previously learned examination skills such as assessment of sensation, range of motion, and strength; 2) previously learned interventions such as thermal modalities, electro therapeutics, therapeutic exercise, and home programs; and 3) new examination, evaluation, intervention, and physical therapy diagnosis skills related to the spine and axial skeleton. Basic science principles are integrated with examination and intervention. Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 2 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
