Catalog description

This course prepares students to develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies essential for professional leadership and collaboration within healthcare teams. Students will examine strategies for building strong relationships, fostering teamwork, and leading through conflict, while recognizing that collaboration requires individuals to reflect on and adapt their own behaviors. Interprofessional competencies of effective teamwork and communication will be explored to optimize team performance and improve health outcomes. The course prepares students for their first clinical rotation by addressing patient and client rights, legal and ethical guidelines, as well as the appropriate supervision and delegation of care components. Lecture Hours: 1 Repeatability: May be repeated for credit up to two times.
