Catalog description

This course provides a structured opportunity for students to develop the habit of regular scientific reading in pharmacology. Students will read and present both classic and contemporary research articles, gaining exposure to foundational methodologies as well as recent advances in pharmacology and toxicology. Emphasis is placed on critical analysis of data, evaluation of research rigor, and identification of strengths and weaknesses in published studies. The course also develops professional skills in oral presentation and scientific communication. Reflecting the department’s broad research interests, topics span the nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, and immune systems. This cross-disciplinary approach offers students multiple perspectives on current pharmacological scientific literature. Lecture Hours: 1 Repeatability: May be repeated for credit.
