Catalog description

This course helps the students explore issues of medical practice. Students debate both sides of ethical issues such as patient confidentiality, patient rights and clinical experimentation/investigation; aspects of dependent practice, and roles of other healthcare providers involved in medical team approach to medical care, legal issues, quality assurance, and risk management. Facilitates development of realistic role identity for the physician assistant. Contact Hours: 2 Repeatability: May not be repeated for credit.
